In this series of paintings I take on a similar creation method as in my Cardboard paintings. However, these paintings are composed of OSB, drywall, drywall chalk, and drywall screws.
I take on the persona of a construction worker on a romantic journey to use art as a vehicle to immortalize the working class. I do this by using industrial materials found in construction sites, similar to the ones I have worked in myself. I then use these materials to make paintings that portray my new found wonder for the moon.
This series is in conceptually linked to my quikrete sculptures, which also use the natural world as a point of departure for a mythology narrative I am currently developing.
